Perfect Modal Verbs

 We use perfect modal verbs to express feelings and beliefs about past actions and events.


After commenting on what modal perfect verbs consist of, we consider it necessary to mention some of their main characteristics:


In the third person singular of the present simple they do not have the ending -s.

To create the negative and interrogative form, it is not necessary to do it through -do or -does.

Modal perfect verbs never have an infinitive with "to" after it since they do not have an infinitive, participle or compound tenses.

I never see John and Claire together anymore. They must have separated.

I think it may have worked, but we gave up too soon
They might have won if their star player hadn’t been injured.

I know you love chocolate. It can’t have been easy to say “no” to that piece of cake.



As we can see in the class that was given, it was that perfect modal verbs are very important to show everyday life and we use them to be able to express ourselves in a better way.
